What? Tax On Sugar Drinks..or Who Says We're Too Fat?

What is happening?
Being an independant minded person, I have been watching and listening to the news every day. I wonder how many of you realize the extent things are changing in our country? Do you ignore it?

This isn't the BIG thing but definitely something to think about. If this passes, we will ALL be affected.

Do you think it is appropriate for the government to impose a 1 cent per OUNCE tax on all drinks containing sugar? (It's not that they are worried about our sugar consumption....it's just another way to TAX US)

I saw this and decided it pretty much says it all...

Yep!!! This pretty much says it all.

I am sorta confused, I thought our congressman and senators were in office to work for US? Pay attention, learn, and understand what's happening to our Republic!

I'm selling a good share of my Collectibles Identification, Reference, and Price Guide Books and came across this Kitchen Collectibles one....so decided I just as well jump on the hay wagon!!

Will be listing other vintage kitchen items...really makes me wonder about my 'thought' process all these past years. When something got old and dull...I would toss it and buy a shiny new item. What was I thinking? Now I appreciate vintage (s'pose it is because I am vintage?) and will opt to buy vintage over shiny new Made in China!!! Buy vintage....like a fine wine....it really is better!

Google does not use the "keywords" meta tag ..I am so confused...

I know I don't know much but I was told by somebody to use correct keywords for my items. Then I get this article in my email this morning and wondered if anybody else was under the same impression. Very interesting!

Google does not use the "keywords" meta tag in its web search ranking. Google's Matt Cutts,
can be seen or read the article in a Webmaster Central video. This is not breaking news, by any means, but there are a lot of people out there that still put a lot of stock into this. Read the entire article and see the video. This is just an excerpt.

"In fact, Cutts mentions that people have sued each other for meta tag keyword theft, when really this is just a waste of everybody's time, because they don't even play a role in the ranking of sites on Google. Have you been under the impression that the keywords meta tag was important to ranking in Google?

"About a decade ago, search engines judged pages only on the content of web pages, not any so-called "off-page" factors such as the links pointing to a web page," says Cutts. "In those days, keyword meta tags quickly became an area where someone could stuff often-irrelevant keywords without typical visitors ever seeing those keywords. Because the keywords meta tag was so often abused, many years ago Google began disregarding the keywords meta tag."

Just because Google ignores the "keywords" meta tag, that doesn't mean it ignores all meta tags. In fact, there are several that the search engine definitely uses. For one, Google sometimes uses the "description" meta tag as the text for search results snippets. But even in then, the "description" meta tag isn't used to influence ranking."

On a lighter note...this little joke is funny...I don't care who you are...

Going to get an H1N1 Swine Flu Shot?

Here's the scoop on the Swine Flu Vaccine.....

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the first doses of swine flu vaccine should get into Americans in a couple of weeks -- but through their noses, not their arms.

Around 3.4 million doses of a swine flu version of the spray vaccine known as FluMist will be shipped the first week of October. Each state will get a share according to its population size.

The nasal spray vaccine won the race because it contains a live, though chemically crippled, form of the pandemic H1N1 virus. Producing the live-virus vaccine was faster than killed-virus preparation used in shots.

Let's get this straight..do NOT get the Flumist if you are pregnant or an infant under 6 mths old, or if you're over 49 UNLESS you have diabetes or heart disease.

If you're healthy and are a health care worker or are aged two to 18 years old, OR if you have close contact with babies younger than 6 months, or are 19 to 24 years old. Practically need to create a spreadsheet to figure that out.

I don't see a category for old farts over 70 so guess I won't worry about it.

I did hear on Dr Rosenfelds Sunday House Call segment yesterday morning that because the nasal mist is made with a live virus, to be very careful and not infect anyone who is health compromised as it could be spread. OK, I've expended enough time on the H1N1 Swine Flu Vaccine....

......forget the whole thing and go get a good bottle of whiskey!!! Ever see a bug live in a bottle of whiskey?

You may think this little story has nothing to do with flu...but keep reading and you'll see...

Miss Beatrice, The church organist, was in her eighties and had never been married. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all.

One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.

As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, The young minister noticed a cute glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom!

When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist.

'Miss Beatrice', he said, 'I wonder if you would tell me about this?'
pointing to the bowl.
'Oh, yes,' she replied, 'Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground.
The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu All winter.'

Now, I ask you, do we really need a flu shot?? Get a jug of whiskey and float a condom...bada bing bada boom........
